Anyone heard from John?

It would be nice if he was working on all of these things in some sort of devoted solitude. ‎  I think its extremely strange that he's disappeared all together.

As for the job thing, he's been a mechanic for a while.
As for the "girl" thing, he's been married at least 10 years. ‎

I remember him being gone for small periods of time to help his wife's parents who were out of state.
Maybe something major happened there and he didn't bother to go wifi hand held?

I wish I knew someone that knew John on a local level, so I could question them. ‎  ^_^

You find out how responsible people really feel towards their geek out friends in the midst of a dropping out even when geeking out appears to be their way of life. If he's married his wife really should be more on terms with the people he slaves away for... the odds of both of them disappearing off the the face of the Earth seems even slimmer.

Last year an ice storm really rocked my area. The entire electrical grid was knocked out and every tree was stripped of its limbs. On the down side electricity was out for two weeks and for people nearer the outskirts of towns for more than a month to two months. The house I stayed at up town was out for a few weeks, but a house closer to downtown came back sooner so I would commute there for internet. I wasn't able to come back to my home (on a ranch surrounded by woods) with electricity for months. We cleared 10acres of dense woods since they were no longer an awe to behold and after a year still have more to clean out... anyway for people without options it could've been hard to live day to day much less get online -- though the library is always available I'd think to at least let people know what's happening. On the plus side the grid was replaced and even out here I don't have to keep replacing battery equipment to keep computers and such alive during momentary brownouts. And when awful storms come their are no more limbs to fall on things... a year later any view of trees outside manicured yards still look like the apocalypse came and went.
