Too much to read through right now at work, but what f you changed register to "apply".? Anyone familar with Windows knows you need to "apply" before closing to make the changes take effect....? Just a thought as it would totally make sense to me. As for event I think that is fine as already said, that's what is used in other game makers. Counter makes sense to me too but I need to think a little more on that one.
