Yeah I'm set in my ways.......I am making this game for me......Not for the community, I am sure that MOST of the community will enjoy it though...... Ya know Red dead redemption is being hailed as a masterpiece from Rockstar..........but funny thing , I still read alot of NEGATIVE reviews...... Mostly by gamers...... and most of thoses games are young, MEANING they were babies when the PS2 came out...... these kids are used to HIGH quality super graphics games..... I grew up with an atari2600 and vision....... I expect alot of folks to diss my game as a dated piece of crap........ Read some of Todd reviews on CNET..... ( I wanted to smack some of the morons who dissed it)...... but upon looking up there profiles, they are 12 and 13, and if it ain't on a PS3 then it's crap......... well Todds game is AWESOME by any means , and definatly NOT PALE.......... I am using this engine cus it's free........ and has a uniqueness lost in many newer games.......... That is also why I put off making the origanal game I wanted to make, because I can't do what I wanted on Som, however it is what is....... And I will do my best to make it as new and exciting as I can...................ML

I for one can't wait to see either of their games because I know full well they will blow mine away, and I am thankful for that. If there was anything that I couldnt stand the most about SOM was that I didn't have the time/skill to go full custom with the engine. I think if you only use whats given in the toolset then you might as well not bother because as soon as someone begins to play they will just think its another DOM clone and turn it off.
We all have our opinions, and its ok to share them, but honestly Holy, I think at this point youre shoving yours down everyone's throat. You have probably posted a dozen times about how you don't like the direction of Joe/Ben's game graphics, and its quite obvious they are set in their ways, so if you don't have any positive things to post please quit posting.
FYI, some people would actually like to finish their game some time this century, so waiting for your miracle of porting in the ST enemies etc may just be out of the question.

First, that's an irresponsible mischaracterization. But just remember if your goal is to do everything from scratch you're going to be dependent on people like me to reverse engineer Som and build tools for you. Which is why Som is a really odd fit for that sort of task... not to mention it's designed to do one type of gameplay and one only. It's just a weird way to go and I don't think that approach technically yields better games at all. If you really want to see good games it require a willful joining of forces. DIY can't compete with corporations unless their work yields more than the sum of its parts. I'm just tired of seeing shit games churned out by corporate boards or piddly squat squeezed out by indie operations and I don't think one man games from scratch is a more viable model.
Their games are fine. But so is DoM, which by the way is not the end all of of Som, only because "people who've played it won't play another Som game". A) People are not that shallow, and B) they're Som graphics, not DoM graphics, which should be as beloved to fans as any KF game's. I also BTW love seeing the graphics re-used the same way I love seeing people in communities sharing / not being wasteful of resources. No one would complain if the same horse had a part in two movies... or actor for that matter. If "people" only want to be done with their games and not look back, I'm not really interested in those people. Som is 10yrs old and is just beginning to pick up steam. Software development doesn't happen overnight... elves are not part of the process.
I'm just A) conversing, and B) encouraging people to do more than help themselves. So, chill out, and enough with the slander already

PS: I'm not actually interested in working with others, making friends, or necessarily being helpful (I help with what I can) ...if I was I'd be a nurse or something. I make stuff I want to make / hope people use it to make more stuff (than I could ever make alone) ...working hand in glove with people is pretty much impossible, because people are so immature. I don't see anyone working with others in this forum.

You two are acting like mean spirited psychopaths. I suggest Todd purge the antisocial posts per usual time of the month outbursts. Why am I here? If that's not obvious (Som) you could try to be a little more empathetic. You're an asshole. I treat people with dignity, and I bent over backward for Creatura by any standard. If he doesn't come back just add him to the massive list of people who appear interested in Som and promptly disappear (in fact that is typical human behavior regardless the activity; as a species we don't exactly have good judgment) you did nothing for Creatura (RIP)
I worked easily probably at least 320hrs just so Creatura can do what he wants to do. I get it, the ladies love bad boys, and people only like good guys in movies.
