OK...found the mistake...the patch probably won't fix it for you since I dont think I can overwrite the existance of that second door in your save file.

What youll need to do for the time being is go ahead and patch...and change your event counter for "col door" to 0 if its not already...hopefully this will fix it for you...if not youll just have to F4 your way through =(

everyone else who hasnt already been there should not have the problem with the new patch.

This game works fine now. ‎  Turns out my problem was having the hardware acceleration low so SoM wouldn't freeze on the map editor.

Todd, this game is very well put together. ‎  I haven't gone very far.... ‎  but everything is great so far!

(and I've been bug farming a little while playing)

You have to use it at the marker near the guyra head statue where you got it. ‎  Where it warps you will also have a marker where the circle of twelve can be used to return.

The doors that are opening for you are actually due to a bug you got early on that switched a counter value to 1 that shouldnt have. ‎  I use the first counter in SOM to 'seal' all the unopenable doors.

It just so happens one of the guideposts you could put a key in before I patched switched this to a 1, thus opening all the doors ><

Not sure why the npc didnt talk to you...I probably messed up his event with a bad trigger like i did the shopkeepers.

I will check it out!

Oh and congrats!

John Just wanted to thank you for the timer info....... I agree Todd's game is a great tribute to KF I am sure that even the little japanese guys would agree:) Very good use of the Som Engine:) I am not even half done with DD, and I like his event setup very smooth... I am making notes for further use in my title:) I hope he don't mind:)

First off can I say hello to everyone on this forum and congratulations to Todd for creating such a great game and authentic Kings Field experience. I've been watching the progress of Dark Destiny and SoM for some time now (from the shadows ‎  Ninja) and thought it was time to introduce myself. As a KF fan from U.K you can imagine how starved I was for some of that unique gameplay, unfortunately the games never caught on this side of the pond with it's RPG simulator type gameplay going over the heads of most reviewers. However that might be set to change as I have noticed Dark Destiny has appeared on a UK gaming site https://retroremakes.com/forum/index.php...310.0.html I thought it would be good for you to make an appearence to explain the series and your own game to those not so familiar? I look forward to making a game of my own with the SoM engine (I would like to do a de-make of Demons Souls) and am grateful to have somewhere to obtain resources and support- many thanks!

I have also seen it mentioned there, thank you for the kind words. ‎  I think its a good idea to sign on anywhere that is interested in the game and try to give a little background. ‎  I will make a point to do so on that site shortly.

Glad to hear you are going to make an SOM game of your own...some of the folks here are breaking new ground daily and unlocking even more functionality from the basic SOM tool. ‎  I would say by the time folks starting out now finish their titles, the possibilities and capabilities with SOM will be far beyond what DD demonstrates.

Its good to have overseas KF fans visit here....the community welcomes all for sure!

Keep us up to date with your projects :)
