Gamespot article talking about indie "King's Field-likes"

Came across this interesting article in my FB feed, and figured I'd share it here. (Hey guys! Long time, no see!)

https://www.gamespot.com/articles/move-o...0-6507649/

The article talks about how KF-like games are becoming more and more popular, and mentions several indie titles that looks quite promising. (Though most of them aren't finished.)

Sadly no mention of SoM or the games made by the people on here, though. ;)

I've really enjoyed playing demo of Monomyth, even though it's less "King's Field like" and more a tribute to the whole era of "those games we loved", as seen by this collage:

My only critique would be that enemies look a bit generic, but overall it seems to be a very nice experience for fans of immersive games, especially in terms of level design (fans of interconnected locations will be happy).

As for Lunacid, Dread Delusion and others (there are more and more KF-inspired games now, I recall somebody sending me news about yet another announce in similar style), I haven't played those yet. However, all this talk reminds me of pretty unique and charming game from 00s most people might not know about - even though it's closer to adventure, it still gives me very strong vibes. Legie.

Legie looks awesome, nice share!

I'm really looking forward to Monomyth when it comes out, can't say I was a massive fan of Lunacid to be completely honest but it's mostly down to my personal preference/tastes.

Monomyth was really fun for me. I played the demo a couple years back and had a ton of fun. There’s also a game called Fiend’s Isle that is very obviously KF-inspired, as its main game title is basically the KF font. There’s been a huge revival of ps1-like games the last decade of so. It’s a great problem to have ?

Hadn't heard about that one, added it to my Wishlist on Steam now. Looks VERY King's Field like. Though it's also a roguelike, which I'm generally not a fan of - but also don't have strong feelings against. I can see it work for a KF style game.
