Some good stuff there. Making a fun game is probably the hardest part of any game. I don't think a single game can please everyone, but it's definitely needs to be fun to it's target audience. Big-company games seem to try to please everyone a little-bit and end up making games that are just mediocre. That probably sells more copies, but I don't think those games mean as much to players as a game that tries to be "just right" for a specific target audience.
