King's Field Pilot Style English translation

Here is a link the patch file.

PS was a promotional item (not a retail game) and is quite hard to find used, so HERE is a translated Pilot Style image.

The movies should play OK on a PS1 now.
The only thing is, in the RAR archive is an optional "add all items" tool. If you use the tool to add all items, a PS1 might not like it.

Sorry about the thread necromancy. Is there a link to finished patched ISO or do I need to use the patch with a JAP-iso?

If that makes sense...

Apologies for necroing this thread again.

First of all THANK YOU Hwit for posting this translated version of this cool little self-contained demo (I'll have to get around to adding it to my HG101 article sometime!).

But having completed it myself I'm wondering how Hwit managed to take that screenshot with the Moonlight Sword Hilt in the inventory? When the player picks it up from the "final" magician's chest, the game ends.

Hiya Casimirs, you're certainly welcome! ‎  Smile

Included with the translation patch is an "all item" tool that that can toggle an ISO between giving the player all items at new-game and normal. There are quite a few items in the game's data from KF3 that don't actually appear in Pilot Style. I even wonder if there are beta versions of the KF3 maps on the disk that could be accessed with cheat codes?

If you set to "all items" though, be aware that it will probably crash if played on an actual PS1 -should work fine on an emulator or PSP though.

By the way, there's some scans of Pilot Style in the post HERE is you haven' seen them. You or anyone else is free to use them as you like.

Thanks for replying Hwit. I played Pilot Style through to completion with PSXFin with the provided ISO so I didn't use the patching tools.

Maybe someone will hack into it some more and find those maps, but for now PS is another hour of King's Field. And it was a pleasant surprise to discover it a few years on from my play throughs of the four main games. Thanks again for providing the translated version.

Now back to hoping that From will make KF 5.... :/
