Moratheia summary

Moratheia will take you to the land of Pelmora, a torn land where savage beasts await those who would dare explore its depths, where allies are few and trickery and temptation attempt to knock you off balance...
A story so daring it will take you to some of the strangest and eeriest places imaginable, testing your resolve and commitment at every turn.


Version 2.2 will be released early 2017. I ‎  suggest waiting for the final release, however due to demand a download link has been provided for a stable version released early 2016.

Game features:

- PS2 style graphics and atmosphere
- 2.5 years worth of development
-Very balanced difficulty
- All textures baked accurately with light sources using Blenders cycles engine, including efficient use of normal mapping, specular mapping, and bump mapping
- Everything in game created, imagined and developed by me, retaining a very consistent atmosphere, soundtrack, story and art form
- 34 large levels to explore, filled with varied creatures, objects, plants, treasure and lore
- Passive skills such as lockpicking that get better as you use them
- Roughly 20-30 hours of game time
- 85 pieces of unique equipment
- 120 unique generic items
- Over 50 unique NPCs, who will offer advice, items, information and humor
- Around 37 unique monsters
- Different attacks for weapon types, including horizontal, vertical, and stab, and combo attacks
- Challenging and intense combat, faster attack speed compared to KF and other SoM games
- Very dark, isolated atmosphere similar to and inspired by Kings Field and a little Demons Souls and Dark Souls

2.2 release plans
This will be the last version of Moratheia SOM.

System, and combat
Vastly improved side quests that require decision making and STR / INT based choices in conversation.
Quests condensed down and improved to suit story flow, new start point at the village of Meera to restrict players who frequently get lost...
Warp talismans found more frequently to improve travel.
Player starts with a spear, along with the dagger.
Player can keep a track of all their skills and skill benefits.

Characters
''Zany'' guards will be scattered around Pelmora rather than clumped into one area.
Some characters will be redone with better graphics... Plenty of work there...
Character animations will be different.

Dungeons and maps
More ambient lighting to set the mood.
Many more lamps, webs and eerie stone faces in dungeons. (Done.)
Important heraldry for Scala, includes flags and so on. (Done.)
Textures vastly improved. (Done.)
At least 2 new enemies added to the roster.
More ruggedness added to towns.
One final major shortcut to link all areas together.
Outdoor map parts improved, some added.
New, interesting houses.
80+ hours spent on new outdoor map tiles.

2.1 release notes

Final fixes made, added a new weapon to Calethan
Added new 2D maps for 2 end game levels
Updated credits
Abilities such as life giving light recover more HP
Sap plants now give more HP when consumed fresh, bottled sap is no longer better than fresh sap.
Tons of bugs fixed.
Added a new enemy.
Improved an enemy animation.
3 late levels vastly improved, redone with better lighting and enemies
Dash speed increased considerably.
Basic intro movie added.
Early game weapons balanced, especially the bladed spear and the mace. Both are now very viable pieces of equipment.
Major difficulty tweaks for late game enemies, and late weapon balancing.
Scalan traders now sell correct goods.
Early blunt weapon added.
Late game map fixes.
Fixed a looping gold event bug.
Fixed some map irregularities in Scala grove.
Fixed a boss trigger range.

Then move all of it's contents into the Moratheia game folder
When asked to merge 'DATA' with 'DATA' click yes, and when asked to merge 'MAP' with 'MAP' click yes also
Then copy and replace all data when prompted
Do the same with the PARAM folder
Finally make sure you copy and replace project.dat

Patch 2.0a released and added to top post. Fixes gold bug in Meera 2 and Scala groves graphical inconsistencies. Also a minor boss fix.

2.0c patch released, combined with the new system fix and intro. Expect 2.1 next week, includes 3 redone and improved levels for Scala caves.
