John im just using your arm model and the 'exact sword side' model i made, every weapon ive made has that swing model. If your arm works with the swing model can you send me the mdl / cp maybe your x2mdl or cpgen works better than mine.

Attached is the arm MDL and a sword Item MDO that works with it. You don't need to use cpgen at all, just use SoM's original arm.cp
The problem is probably that you're using your 'exact sword size' model to align your weapons. It will not work for arms made with x2mdl unless Mick makes it work right instead of scrunching the default pose.
Until then, you will need to realign all your weapon's swing models ( _0.mdo ) to match the included "New Weapon Align Model.mqo".
John im having trouble with setting up a new swing with that new swing model position you attached.
I made a new swing - swing 4 in the mqo file. I set my pickaxe to have swing 4. The swing MDO matches your new alignment perfectly. The swing is right but the model is very off (see pic) once i know whats going wrong ill be fine, but i have no idea.

There were a couple problems:
You're using an old version of x2mdl for the arm, which has the 'reversed bone #' bug. That bug makes the weapon attach to the 'shoulder' bone. Get the newer release at the top post here.
Second, the pick just needs to lay on its side instead of standing up (see attached mdo).
I changed those two things and the #4 swing worked like a charm!
I tried adding two arms and joining them for a 2 handed swing. But the weapon model seems off ... Though i did setup a bone structure to link them both together.
This new swing arm does not support SoM's original weapons or hand armor.
However, it will support new weapons/hand armor that are aligned specifically for the new arm.
As far as "how you did it", making a new arm works just like making a normal animated model, except it has some strict requirements for bone arrangement. The bones on the sample arm (attached earlier) are a pretty good example of how to set up bones for a new arm.
Ben, that's a nice skeleton! It almost looks like you were copying human anatomy (shoulder blades etc). If you send me your double-arm model, I'll see if I can figure anything out when I have time. I'm focusing on the STA project for now so it may be awhile.
