Like Verdite says, Meta's square primitive is 200x200 which is the size of a single map Piece so they're a good reference, but you can make Pieces just about any size.
In case you want to to know the size of existing SoM Pieces, I made a template model collection for you- it's at the bottom of the "Add on" post. Most of SoM's original Pieces are in multiples of 50 Metasequoia size units. Room Pieces are 100 or 200 wide and 300 tall. Double doors are 400 wide and 250 tall, single doors. . . well you can guess ;) Steps are 50 high etc. If the numbers sound too abstract, they're in the template.
