If you're talking about the original 'lamp' Objects that came with SoM, they all begin with 'Lamp'- strangely enough the 'Lantern' isn't a lamp.
All the home-made lamp Objects I made have the tag 'lamp' in their name. I wouldn't know about other peoples'. You turn on the lamp's light in the map editor when it is placed (under 'Extra Setup') Make sure you always push both 'apply' buttons to save changes. Your editor might look a little different than the picture below but should be close. Verdite, Do you have a 'full screen' version of the map editor? I don't know if I ever sent you a copy, but it might some things easier.

Thanks alot John - heard alot about you.
Good to see you're posts. Have you got anywhere with the x2mdl?

Ha, you're quick :)
I edited some in my post above if you didn't already see it. x2mdl converted an x model to an MDL that that would load in the viewer, but it seemed to lose animation and no luck with generating a .CP Still, x2mdl is certainly a huge step forward.

Hey John, I am working on a new addons section to clean up the old one and allow people a chance to show off their customs etc.
You have a lot of utilities I wouldn't mind placing in there (the large map editor is one of them)...would you mind if I popped your creations on the list. You can see the work in progress site here: www.swordofmoonlight.com/SOMTools/Addons

Also, whilst on the subject of software, John do you have a programme or tool to remove that nasty split line down NPC's faces? I think Todd told me you'd found a way around it. Apologies if i've got that wrong.

Verdite- The 'improved' (hopefully) Map Editor is going to be part of my v1.2 translation patch, which is 99.9% done, but hasn't been officially released yet. It just has a larger work area (if your monitor resolution supports it), a more user friendly layout, and added tips (for light shine angles etc).
If you email me at weissvulfATyahoo.com, I'll send you a copy. But, I need to know what resolution your PC's available display space is? That would be your desktop resolution if you're running SoM from your actual PC (ie WinXP) or the window resolution if you're running SoM from some sort of Virtual PC. I did a fix for the misaligned textures on NPCs/Enemies and it will be included in the 1.2 patch. I can send you the fixed NPC/enemy files with the Map Editor if you want. Todd- The large map editor isn't finished yet. The version you have is an early test copy and I don't want to confuse things by making different versions 'officially' available. If I don't get off my rear and release the 1.2 patch soon, ask me again and I'll put together an 'official' version to release. As far as any other stuff that is already on my site, you can post/host what you like as long as the any 'readme' stays intact. Not sure if anything there is worth posting though since there ave been a lot of improvements since SoM(En) was 'born'. |
