Som install problem

Ive got SoM up and running thanks to Todds simple advice, and now my only problem is placing obj items npc and enemies, because i cant disable direct x on my new pc, so there seems to be conflict when nothing except the map is visible in the preview screen..
I can still test my maps though, is there any way to disable dx on 7? |
