Are their any requirements for entering Guyra's area in KF2?

Are their any requirements for entering Guyra's area in KF2? I thought maybe you need the dark crystal/slayer to enter. But I can't find any evidence of that

Is it possible to get past Necron without having either?

It is possible to reach/kill necron without those items. ‎  Once you defeat the ice golems that final area becomes open, I am fairly certain you need not do any of the dark slayer quest to enter his coliseum.

Thanks for this. I knew someone would know. Seems odd to not need a key or anything to face Guyra. It could be one of those things that no one has ever tried I suppose
