Unable to climb stairs made in the Map Editor

#1
Hey all, new SoM user here.

I've been playing around in the map editor and hit a roadblock while playtesting with some stairs. I can't even get up the first step while trying to ascend them, regardless if I'm walking or running. I made a couple more using different tiles and widths, but I run into the same issue. The height difference between each step is .5, which should be climbable according to the tutorial linked in the forum.

I'm not sure if I'm missing an obvious setting essential for staircases, but I haven't had luck finding another topic (here or elsewhere) regarding this. Any help would be appreciated.

Not sure how active this place is, but I was hoping for some sort of response by now. Still curious about this as I won't be able to make any more progress until I figure out what's going on.

Heya,

Short answer: You should probably half it to .25 units each step.

Will hopefully have a better tutorial up soon. Could you link the specific part of the tutorial that mentions the 0.5 units?

Longer answer: hitbox behavior can vary wildly in SoM and it also can vary on speed. I've had very small objects become impassable because player speed was too low.

Sorry for the wait.

Thanks for getting back to me.

It might just be that I haven't touched the editor in months after giving up, but I didn't realize you could adjust things by anything less than .5 units. .25 seems to resolve the issue I was having.

Looking again, I believe the only indication the guide gave me was point 7 in the "Assembly>Placing Parts" section.
