I should probably scan the dark side extras book and pop it up on there sometime.

I was looking at the "official" picture for the Darkside box and noticed that it's significantly different than the released version. Does anyone have a copy of the Darkside box that matches the official picture?
Some differences:
Outer box has a "cracked rock" print and the jewels are on the opposite side.
The art book appears to be hardbound, have more pages, and shows pictures that weren't in the final release.
The game-disk slip cover is metallic gold and has gold letters instead of gold color with black letters.

The official photo doesn't look photo-shopped. I expect it shows a trial first-print which was changed before the final production release. If so, I wonder if any copies like it still survive?

I happened upon Mr Lindquist online and he sent me that picture of the production disks. I'm really glad they went to a long time KF fan who will appreciate them. I had already pestered Mr Lindquist (with KF fan stuff) so I didn't want to bother him by asking about the CDs but I'd be very interested in any info etc. about them.

If there's any collectibles info/pics you want to add to the wiki, feel free! If your busy or such, you can post info here and I'll add it to the wiki :)

PS. Who's doing clutch work? I am a mechanic so I have about 15 pressure plates laying around my place too ‎  Biggrin ‎

Tim is the graphic designer for some of the strategy guide, but not the actual artist who made the somewhat toony character images.
Terry would be the actual artist. ‎  Tim is the one who sent me the disks though, very nice person.
I will probably be sharing alot of the collectible stuff in the podcast and video thingy.

And that is an ACT extreme duty pressure plate, I am placing a new chromoly flywheel and 6 puck ACT disk onto the placeholder engine until my 2gr-fe is ready. ‎  The recent "non-winter" here in new york city has sped up the process in my driveway.

I'm curious what the original purpose of the disks was. Do you know the answer? I speculate that they were made by Agetec and given to Lindquist as source art/material to use in the strategy guide design.

The 2gr would be quite a boost over the stock engine. California has strict smog laws so it's quite a pain to do an engine swap here. I live in the mountains so I don't do to much "street racer" type mods, but I'm bumping my Samurai (came with 1.3L) up to a 1.8L because the stock engine was pretty underpowered for modern highway speeds.

Exactly what you think. ‎  Complete with the typical "chinese telephone" effect that comes with most of american translated kingsfield lore files. ‎  Loosely written stuff, handed to someone else whose main purpose is to throw together a layout in dreamweaver and copy paste and fill in blanks. ‎  Resulting in alot of the inconsistent storylines we find in the american versions. ‎  Even the translator I have here on the couch is impressed, and she has seen alot of bad localization. ‎  ;)

I will spend time moving disk info after I return from PAX in boston next weekend :)

And yes the 2gr would give 290 and alot more torq normally aspirated, untouched. ‎  Needless to say I did alot of touching, and now an australian trd supercharger from the aurion on the way. ‎  I weigh 2200lb. ‎  And I am greatful I dont have the cali laws for smog.
I am normally on aim and secondlife during the day on weekdays if you want to chat sometime :)

Neat information! I always wondered if the Psycpros Collar collar was Japanglish for Cyclops???

Added the ultra cool ‎  Dark Destiny hard copy and Darkside box to the wiki.

lol wow, yes. ‎  Japtacular Japanglish. ‎  The Cyclops (not Psycpros) is one of the servants of Shaddam.
I still want to try Dark Destin. ‎  I find Dmp to be a good write who has awesome passion :)

Huh, I hadn't noticed that about the Dark Side box... My own copy is packed away at the moment, so I'm not able to check it, but I will in a couple of weeks - moving to a new apartment the 15th.

And I really, really want a hard copy of Dark Destiny! xD

@TSB: Would you mind uploading ISOs of those discs somewhere for us? ;) Also, interested in knowing what other stuff you've got.

PS: Has anyone here got the KF letter opener?
