*cracks knuckles* Ready?

Well guys, progress has been a little on the slow side. ‎  I'd say I'm in the 90's range as far as percentage of map placed, but my weekends for this month are a bit had.... ‎  away from my computer that is.

My excuses, bridal shower, marriage counseling, registering, mastering jobs (that's on the computer though) and being slightly burnt out of placing pieces. ‎

Naturally, my pace on this game will pick up when things drift away from map pieces, map pieces, map pieces. ‎
Please bear with me though.... ‎  I'm not sure if I'll be done by August or not. ‎  (Todd and I talked about this at least)
Its still too early to tell. ‎

It will also take a little time for a soundtrack too.

I'll post additional information as I have it.

I think my next task to tackle will be creating the soundtrack. ‎  I'm virtually done with the map and placing map pieces, but it actually doesn't have to do with the game...

....I've got music flowing through my head. ‎  Its a chronic condition. ‎  :P

I think I'm going to get some of this down while its in my head.

I've got some music done.... ‎  I've got a general idea of what to do for an entire soundtrack.

I'm planning on having events that trigger music, but since SOM doesn't loop event BGM it will be decently long tracks. ‎

There's a decent amount of repetition.... ‎  going for the "theme" thing.

Certain missions/monsters will have their own theme. ‎  The "town" theme will be the same throughout, so that will get played a lot.

I have to make sure its good.... ‎  and so far, so good! ‎

hey tom, SOM CAN loop event music ;)

make sure you click the 'loop' box at the bottom of the event editor when you do it lol, dunno how we all missed that on our first games @@

I seem to remember that function all along, and it not working for some reason. ‎
That was actually the entire reason for me making additional maps for DOM because I couldn't get the music to loop, even with the loop command.

I'm experimenting with a different drum "set". ‎  I really like the sound, and I think I might use this for other projects as well...

Anyway, I finished the song for the main "town" area! ‎  It sounds really good.... ‎  actually like a mix between King's Field music and the music from the GameBoyAdvanced game Castlevania-Harmony of Dissonance.

Should I post tracks as I get them done? ‎  ....or just blow you guys away all at once with game, music and all? ‎

I'm really looking forward to seeing how you've used my map pieces. I sent you some items too, have you checked them out?

I'm sorry guys. ‎  I've been slacking big time regarding this game.

Its like all my free time revolves around wedding stuff - making reception invitations, counseling, buying more supplies... ‎  Also, I had a birthday recently and one of my presents is majorly distracting me.

Its a new electric guitar.

....and I've been recording some traditional black metal, with my fiance writing lyrics for it.
