The greatness that is Pumpkin Paster (tutorial)!!!! - HwitVlf - 2009-12-30 Here's a link to a simple Pumpkin Paster tutorial video. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jaey9RC1uSY Here's a direct link to the MP4 video download. https://www.megaupload.com/?d=GHBQ7BLU In case someone doesn't know, Pumpkin Paster is a tool made by KilroyFX that works along side SoM's map editor to GREATLY increase SoM's editing abilities. Seriously, it's the greatest expansion to Sword of Moonlight EVER. Re: The greatness that is Pumpkin Paster (tutorial)!!!! - Hguols - 2009-12-31 HOLY SMOKES! I had no idea that's what this program did! Re: The greatness that is Pumpkin Paster (tutorial)!!!! - Hguols - 2009-12-31 I REEEAAALLY like how you say "Pumpkin Paster" John. (Watches the video again) Re: The greatness that is Pumpkin Paster (tutorial)!!!! - HwitVlf - 2010-01-01 That's not my voice. My voice is . . . ummm MUCH more manly and eloquent sounding. . . kinda like a cross between Arnold Schwarzenegger and James Earl Jones tee hee hee . . . I mean <style="manly&eloquent"> NYA HA HA!!! </> You believe me don't you? (2009-12-31, 04:11 PM)Hguols link Wrote:HOLY SMOKES! Sometimes when I first try a new program, it pops up some message about 'need configuration' and my eyes glaze over and I put it aside to figure out 'later'. I just hoped to show people that PPaster was really worth a little effort to figure out. Re: The greatness that is Pumpkin Paster (tutorial)!!!! - kilroyfx - 2010-01-03 Yeah its done I think. I called it pumpkinpaster because I think I wrote it around Halloween. Thanks for making the tutorial..... Re: The greatness that is Pumpkin Paster (tutorial)!!!! - HwitVlf - 2010-01-03 You're certainly welcome Kilroy. Thank you for making the tool in the first place; slapping a little tutorial together is the easy part :) I meant to mention on youtube that the 'Choose Map' window bug doesn't usually happen that often. It seemed to be popping up more often when I was recording video at the same time. Re: The greatness that is Pumpkin Paster (tutorial)!!!! - kilroyfx - 2010-01-04 Yeah, it probably could be fixed....My program actually opens and closes that window many many times, and usually the user wont see that...its the only way for me to Re-Load the map back into the SOM_MAP editor...if there was a hook or something I could 'call' that would load in the map but not open that window...that SOM_MAP editor also likes to ask if you should save if you make the tiniest change....so I also have tried to address that window too... It's really amazing that it works as well as it does...but I use the program a bunch, and I have realized that I could delete the ITEMS without any risk, since they never hold events..... Re: The greatness that is Pumpkin Paster (tutorial)!!!! - HwitVlf - 2010-01-05 I think it's extremely cleaver how you have it set up- accomplishing such complex edits by exploiting such simple controls. In the current version of PPaster, you have already implemented the ability to delete all Items right? -since they never have events attached. Re: The greatness that is Pumpkin Paster (tutorial)!!!! - kilroyfx - 2010-01-06 Yes thats true, I forgot. I meant the original "root" items that have not been duplicated yet. They could theoretically be removed without harm :) I wish I had gotten around to finishing the event handling code but no matter. No matter. |
