John's translation situation... - Holy_Diver - 2010-04-17 What are the plans to deal with the translation of the editors now with John kaput? Did he release anything to anyone? Did that mistranslation of the bad status buttons in the editor even ever get corrected? That's pretty bad, is there anything else like that? Re: John's translation situation... - Hguols - 2010-04-23 Well, before his disappearance, he gave me an ISO of Shadow Tower Abyss and it looks translated to me. ...but I never knew what the original looked like, and I didn't play it what he gave me much. PS2 emulation has a way to go before I'll seriously spend some time with it. Re: John's translation situation... - Holy_Diver - 2010-04-24 If you can get the iso online where I could download it I could check it out easily (eventually, might take me a week or two to get it home) ...I have a save game or two which might indicate whether it's translated to the end / works. Which is to say you can always play the ISO with an actual PS2!! I could also prepare a patch somehow I reckon (I'm assuming that's doable with existing software) Re: John's translation situation... - Hguols - 2010-04-27 So uh.... still here, huh? Re: John's translation situation... - Holy_Diver - 2010-04-28 Were you able to get the translated ISO up somewhere? Re: John's translation situation... - AsusX2 - 2010-04-28 Pcsx2 is a great emu, although, it does take some time to configure it and a pritty powerful comp to run it, but, hg, did'nt you say you bought a new comp a while back, if you did than and its duel core or better, pcsx2 should work great for you and it will play iso's (no disk needed) Re: John's translation situation... - Holy_Diver - 2010-04-29 Did they ever get the recompiler stuff going? I think unless something radical is done like recompiling the games themselves emulating the PS2 on a PC is still a lot of energy/heat for not much. I wonder if the PS3 is any better though architecture/technology wise... I wish PS2 games would go up on the PSN. Even big ones are only a few hundred MBs compressed. Re: John's translation situation... - Vicious - 2010-05-30 So is this being worked on anymore? What about that 'supposedly' translated ISO from above, comparing it wouldn't be all that hard. |
