Adding videos to SOM - Verdite - 2013-06-28 Does anyone know the format of the video, and the specifics? Im about to start making the intro and the ending. Nothing fancy - just text and image based. Re: Adding videos to SOM - Madison Lastrega - 2013-06-28 Yeah I did a bunch of video work when I was working with mytrosia, the only problem with video is that, it is gonna look a little grainy..... Unless you use the default 640x480 resolution, and yuck who wants that.... Som only plays video on the stock res. DMP used a another codec for dark destiny, but his output was still the same..... The format is avi.... 6x4. I can send you some vids I made for you to test with they are ready, I took and episode of the old TV show cheers and turned it to an event video for testing..... Looked good but once again low res. One thing I would like is to have our view match what our game output res. ........ But like with the au sound format, som uses very specific codecs...... Ah you already have a test vid, and you can use it for its specs...... Take the intro vid on kings field on the som setup disk..... That will be plenty to give you a gest of what to work with....... Happy videoing .............ML Re: Adding videos to SOM - dmpdesign - 2013-06-29 Really any avi will work, the codec i used way back when was to get really small files, but it was incompatible with windows 7+ so I wouldnt recommend it. I recompiled my videos into a new avi format that is much better, a bit larger but will play with any version of windows. If you can compile the videos into any format (whatever is easiest for you) I would be happy to convert them using Adobe Premiere, its a really great software for that, and I can add in a bunch of effects with it if necessary. Here is a trailer I made for one of my xbox games using it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5QkI3aCjOMo |
