History of Japanese games - HwitVlf - 2013-10-14 I thought this kickstarters project sounded interesting. I wonder if anyone who worked on the King's Field projects will be interviewed. https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1748556728/the-untold-history-of-japanese-game-developers Re: History of Japanese games - Guyra - 2013-10-14 Awesome! I'd really like to get that book once it's released. :D And From Software really should get some time in the spotlight here, considering the first KF was the first RPG to ever grace the PS1, and it was a launch title, and KF2 was released as the first RPG for the PS1 in the west. In addition, they've sold incredibly well in Japan - all three PS1 KF games have gotten both a "The Best" rerelease and a "PSone Books" rerelease. And then you've got the souls games, which had great success worldwide. I think it would be weird of there wasn't at least a short interview with someone from From Software in there. |
