How to tell KF1 SOM edition from standard KF1 fan translation? - doctommaso - 2014-12-03

My friend gave me the PSP eboot of what he thinks is KF1 SOM, but it just says "KF1PSP". ‎  Anyway to tell from start up if the game is the SOM edition or simply the fan translation of the Japanese KF1?

You might have one of the two King's Field additional games on PSP, I don't think the SOM remake was ever made available for it.

Thanks, but it's either the fan translation of the Japanese KF1 or it's the enhanced SOM edition. ‎  Anyway to tell early from the start menu or from early on in the game?

Um, if the intro has bad voice acting, it's the SOM version.

The original won't have any voice acting at all.

Biggrin Everyone's a critic. There are actually two versions of the SoM 'enhanced' version. I'll acknowledge that my version has bad voice acting (the sample project version), but I thought Todd did good job voicing the full download version.

Also doctommaso, the SoM games won't run on the PSP so if it's an eboot, pretty safe guess it's the PS1 version. ‎  Smile

Thanks, most helpful.

This is hilarious to me because I just now, not five minutes ago, discovered the Todd DuFore plaque next to King Reinhardt II's body.

If the human NPC characters have faces, it's SOM remake.

Either way, you're playing an 'unofficial' translation.... the original King's Field never got an official English translation from From Software.

You can thank these guys for that!

Thanks, guys!!

Haha, didn't know it was you Wolf.

Perhaps you should voice the intro for my upcoming game. Wink

Smile I mainly did that voicing for lack of a better option but I was never really satisfied with it. I think it takes a lot of talent and a high quality mic to get a decent end product. I have all but two of those! ‎  Cool
