Locking warp point until

#1
I haven't tried it yet as I've had to take a week off from ym project but have been THINKING alot about what I want the game to be. ‎  Like I've said before, I want to structure it around how Diablo 2 is made. ‎  I would like each map to be it's own "area" in the game and only accessable to the next area via killing the main boss at the end of each map. ‎  I'm assuming it would be possible by having the final boss drop an object that will unlock the warp point?

Another quetions I have, how do I make the map that is viewable when you find the "map" for the board? I want to have a book or scoll on each map that once found, will show the map of the entire "area" you are on.

Lastly, I never played KF and found SOM and just wanted to make a game as I think it's really cool and would love to have the gratification of hopefully having other people enjoy what I've made. ‎  If my game doesn't follow any of the KF series, would it still be something people would be willing to play?

- There is an event parameter that can become active after an enemy death, so it would be very easy to create a warp point that activates once a boss is dead.

-To make a viewable map you have a few options. ‎  The game supports a premade map feature (which I dont care for personally) that generates a grid map based on the pieces used to make your game. ‎  To have an item display a map, simply go to the item editor, have it usable yes but consumable no...then make its function set to 'map'.

Below there is a 'display type' field that has a drop down menu. ‎  Selecting icon uses the aforementioned preloaded map capability of SOM, which I don't like much.

Choosing Bitmap, will only allow you to set one image that this map can show.

Choosing either BMP1, 2 or 3 will allow you to set up different images per map (within the map editor settings menu) that this single item can show a map of.

If you are going to have a special item for each level then just choosing the regular bitmap image option should be fine. ‎  If you want the same item to show a different map depending on which area the player is in, then choose one of the BMP1, 2 or 3 option and setup the individual images accordingly.

-Would people play your game if its not like king's field? ‎  Absolutely. ‎  Trismegistus is a fine example of a very non -king's field like game and it had a hefty number of downloads.
