Fun with video!

Here's two videos I did today, "acoustic" versions of the Hguols stuff. ‎

First, a classical guitar version of "...of Winter Moons", track 6 on the Epitome album. ‎  For those of you who don't have MP3s of the original song, that song is features on my myspace page. ‎  (https://www.myspace.com/hguols)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OVF2C_J8-jo

For trivia's sake, that video was taken in my bedroom, and at the end of the video, I smiled at my mother who comes to see me Sunday afternoons. ^_^

Here is a piano version of "...of Unprecedented Deaths", which the original version of the Hguols song is track 2 on the Epitome album. ‎  This song is actually in the Dark Destiny game, I think with water droplets going.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wJ8u7EwnhFk

This is played at an old piano in the cafeteria of where I work. The F key right below middle C makes this bad clicking sound, and the piano is out of tune... however, I like the look and sound of it, despite that. (I'm not much for "keyboards" at least in regards to performances)

The videos were taken with my PSP. ‎  I improved the audio a little with some Cakewalk plugins.

WOW !! 275....when I was 30, the most I could ever do was 225.....
But, be careful.....I injured myself also in the past and it took 12 months for
my shoulder to recover. Listen to your joints and don't confuse muscle pain
with joint/tendon pain :) But I'm sure you know all this already !! Heck you just
benched 275 !!!!!!

But, can you somehow combine weightlifting with piano playing?? That would
be cool. I would like to see it all in one video, maybe play the drums with your
feet ?

I think the last injury I had was around the 225lbs mark for me. ‎  I had a nerve move on me, and it felt like a knife in my left armpit whenever I'd try to bench. ‎  I went from getting 225lbs 15 times, to couldn't get it once because of that nerve and the pain. ‎

One of my previous spotters, who is a lifter as well, told me I need to hang from that bar. ‎  *pointed to a bar on a basketball hoop* ‎  ....after hanging 3 times, I could do sets of 10 again, but I'd have to hang between sets - because of that nerve. ‎  It took a couple months, gradually moving up again, but now I'm lifting more than ever! ‎  I was told "recovering", not doing anything, was one of the worst things I could have done. ‎  I was encouraged to keep using it - and I did.

About a year before that, I pulled a bicep. ‎  Once again, I just used lighter weight, but still lifted - and I was told not using it was one of the worst things I could have done.

Normally, I have some pretty intense music blaring in the gym when I lift, but I usually use my PSP for that as well.

I never thought of trying to play the piano and lift at the same time. ‎  AppleKid-ani-bas

I just got a weird mental image.

Yeah, I remember a trick I used to get past a certain weight was basically to lower my
weights and do higher reps...thus strengthening a bunch of other stuff....

I had a video from about a year ago, where I could consistently climb a 30 foot rope
without using my legs...(one time I did it 3 times in a row, but almost fell on my way down)

It was pretty cool....the video...I did it at muscle beach in Santa Monica in front of my ex,
very few people could do it....I always had a rope swing in my backyard.

I don't think I could do that Kilroy. ‎
Probably, we're strongest at what we train at. ‎

Here's some other guitar tunes I did, if any of the ghosts and tumbleweeds here want to watch them:

Took some footage of my workout yesterday.

First set (my warmup actually) was 275lbs on the bench press. ‎ No spotter.
I know, I know. ‎ No spotter with that kind of weight normally = quite dumb, but I'm confident in my strength to do a set of 10. ‎ That went off without a hitch.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XIZbLStrF6o

Second set, 295lbs on the bench press. ‎ Had a spotter.
I don't think I got 10 myself. ‎ It's hard to tell how much he's taking off from looking at the video, and it was impossible to tell while I was pushing. ‎ I'm guessing I pushed 8-9 of them myself, even though he starts touching the bar after the 7th push.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q94QfLD3Go0

Third set, 315lbs on the bench press. ‎ It's actually the body weight OF my spotter. ‎ ^_^
I can't quite tell if I got 6 myself. ‎ I think I did, but it was obvious I needed some help the rest of the way (to get 10 reps) ‎ The 9th and 10th push, I can tell he's taking off some pounds just because of his grip on the bar and how tense his arms are (at least compared to the 295lbs push)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=grmPEAxdMZc

Got a video of me doing barbell pullovers. ‎ 185lbs, one set of 10. ‎ (I actually did three sets of 10 for my workout, but the first attempt was the prettiest one. ‎ ^_^)
