I wonder if that's a bug. I can't think of a reason to make brush ignore faces. Especially a bad choice since there's no visual difference between selected vert+lines and a selected face.

I havent had any trouble whatsoever with the rope tool or the rect tool. They have served me well.
I'll say though, the rope sometimes fades out in win7.

Is it possible to combine two objects into one?
eg.: I have a handle and a blade and they are called obj1 and obj2. Can I make obj1 so that it has obj2 combined on it?

Yes you can. All the action happens in the object panel.
From 'misc' you can merge or merge visible or left click and drag obj2 on top of obj1 (or vice-versa). The thick line means objs will swap position and the thich box is merge. ctrl or shift and drag to constrain.

Heres the sword from the apple incident. I made some changes, mapped and textured (the handle anyway). Please use it as you wish. For the game you would need to resize the tex.

Did you use one of Meta's unwrapper plugins for this?

Oooh looks good in the game. The UVs, I project areas and then move and stitch. I haven't really looked at the other tools yet.

Just a quick note on UVs - surely the most unsavoury part of the process.
What can sometimes help is to cut the model in half and map it to suit. Clone, and then mirror the object. Delte the initial clone and then you have two halves with the UVs stacked on top of each other. Then just select one set and flip the UVs across the U or V. Theres a button in the easy UV panel. |
