Status update for those on the edges of their seats ‎  Ninja

We are nearly there! ‎  We are now in the checking phase to make sure our translations and formatting fit in the available space, that it makes sense in context, etc...

The long wait is nearly over, I promise! ‎  Dance Dancev

What about the matter of actually hacking the text into the game? Or at this point, is that just gonna be a simple CTRL+F/REPLACE WITH... procedure? Sounds like you guys have a good grasp on the game's coding.

Ha, it may seem like translating is the easy part, but I think most game-translators would agree that it's much harder to find a translator than a PC nerd. I think you've done the hardest part by far.

Hi NoSoup4you (the soup Nazi!!) and welcome to the forum. Things are going well with inserting the text, but it's a little more complicated than search and replace. I made a tool that makes it pretty easy to inserts new text, and I may release it after we're done. Are you interested in translating games?

I'd be much more likely to be the "PC nerd" than an actual translator. I've done some programming, wouldn't call myself a professional by any means, but I pick it up quickly I guess. Right now I'm busy with audio production.

I can't wait! You guys are awesome! After playing with demon's souls, i took interest in from software previous rpg's and shadow tower abyss is the one that look the more awesome. So glad you guys are translating it! Not to say that i don't care about the other games. I recently bought king's field 4 on ebay and i played and finish the trilogy on playstation. Their great! But shadow tower abyss looks miles better. ‎  200 weapons? Swords, axes, bows, guns. That's crazy! I can't believe this was only release in japan.

Drummer ‎  (That's a drumroll...)

Thanks to everyone for waiting more or less patiently all this time! ‎  (Myself included - turns out I was less patient than most...) ‎  Here you will finally find [shadow=grey, left]Shadow Tower: Abyss[/shadow] in [shadow=grey,left][glow=yellow,2,300]English[/shadow].

For legal reasons, we will not be distributing the game itself. ‎  What is provided here is a patch that will allow you to modify an iso image of the game disc to convert the in-game text to English, as well as add subtitles to the movies. ‎
Without further ado, you can find the patch here. https://www.megaupload.com/?d=622WLKFZ

Things you will need:
  • a copy of the game in .iso format
  • the (ppf) patch linked above
  • a ppf patching program, for example PPF-O-Matic
  • either a modded PS2 or a PS2 emulator (a normal PS2 won't load a burned game)

Millions of thanks to the Great White Sage Wolf. ‎  Happy gaming!

Wow, that was pretty quick! I'd expected it to take much longer! Well done! :D

Going to download that to my computer so I can play STA as soon as I get the game. :3
