Hook, Line and Sinker!!!!

My efforts with the band are on the verge of paying off.

There is a label interested in releasing the Hguols album and adding me to their roster!!!

The small but growing label is EEE Recordings and they're actually from the same state I am. ‎  (Illinois)

I've made good grounds on my next SoM project today, and now I have other work to do regarding the Hguols project.... ‎  (like getting the album artwork to them)

Looks like I'll be quite busy this weekend.

And here I feel just awful I don't know what a Hguol is or even how to go about pronunciation 5innocent2

I guess being unpronouncable (most Bing hits) / unspellable gives you indie cred Smokin

I was in a band called Slough back in the day, and needless to say, this little solo project is a backwards/mirror image to that band on multiple levels.

Since Slough is pronounced like "sluff", I've been pronouncing Hguols like "fulse". ‎  (Like "false" but an "uh" sound rather than an "ah" sound.) ‎  A few friends jokingly refers to it as "h-gools", (silly phonetics) and my sponsor pronounces it almost like "hooalls" (too proper phonetics). ‎  Tomato/tomato.

Eric (that's the guy that runs EEE Recordings) is going to print full-color two-panel inserts via standard jewel case (with a tray card). ‎  Here is some samples of the artwork I'm sending to him. ‎  Naturally, he'll add in the bar code and other label stuff, and he might change a few other things around too. ‎  I've decided to go with this "sunset-ish" color scheme, I thought it looked the best. ‎  He might not get around to getting this CD released until the end of the year though....

Mick, if you want to hear the music and you have free access to the domain via FTP, you'll find a stack of MP3s lying around. ‎  (hint, check the Music/Tom Tunes folder) ‎  If you don't have access, I'll PM you some links. ‎  If you don't want to hear the music, that's ok too.

Now that the artwork is done, I believe I will be putting together a Dun Dunn DUUUUNNNNNN Myspace page.

Well, I slapped together a Hguols myspace page. ‎  It was fairly painless. ‎  A few scripts later, it looks like a decent page. ‎  (and I can sell my MP3s as well! ‎  One of the perks to still retaining the rights to my music.)

I don't think you ever said where your myspace is / where your stuff is available to listen to now...

Not sure where you are coming from, but do you enjoy like Death in June? Or is that too mainstream/not your thing? I give play to all kinds of music, but I tend to listen to long-running acts/artists with huge/solid back-catalogs. I pretty much gravitate to all the elitist crap that everyone with a worthwhile opinion will agree to be high integrity bodies of work. Like if I listed my all-time top fav acts it would probably be the most generic list by art snob standards. When it comes to leisure/atmosphere I pretty much listen to huge complete discographies on shuffle. So I tend to stick with the creme of the crop.

I said the myspace link. ‎  I typed it, I didn't exactly provide a link though. ‎  Here it is, finally...

https://www.myspace.com/hguols

Death in June isn't really my thing. ‎  Checking out a page or two of some of my friends might explain what kind of is my thing - specifically . ‎  I'm not so much for underground bands as I am for good music - if they are mainstream, popular, to me is beside the point.

I am going to work on an actual webpage for this project. ‎  I hope to be done with it this weekend....

I think I will quote that. ‎  Wait, Gatling guns are pretty smooth aren't they? ‎  Smooth yet explosive....
Ouch.

Anyway, I've completed a Hguols webpage. ‎  Let me know what you think of my building skills!

https://www.swordofmoonlight.com/hguols

By the way, Todd, is it ok to have a band page at this address? ‎  I've got the entire thing backed up to anon.swordofmoonlight.com/hguols as well. ‎  Let me know which one is cool to have. ‎  (I'd prefer swordofmoonlight.com/hguols myself)

You don't want something like that in anon, but it's really not professional to have it under swordofmoonlight.com either. I think it's only 10$ to get a domain name with Todd's host. You should get something like www.hguols.com and we can work it out from there.

Quote:The Hguols project actually started back in 2005. It was a solo project, and involved instrumental black metal using live instruments. Acoustic drum tracks were laid and one was song was completed, but a house fire ended up destroying the computer with all the work on it.

^Also you've got double SwordOfMoonlight.com links (for double the fun or??)

PS: Just my stupid opinion, but if nothing has been printed yet, I think the song titles would be cooler without the ellipsis...
