If you two know the login and password to hguols.com, that's certainly no problem. If it weren't for you guys, I wouldn't even have it! I don't really need to change the password - its not like I'm going to forget it or tell anyone what it is.
______________________ Well, I spent about an hour jumping through hoops for filing copyrights online. All the music, logo and other artwork for the Hguols project and "Epitome" album covered for $35. Eh.... That's better than $65 the paper way. ...and its one of those things that just needs to be done.

I've looked into patenting some stuff before, though I suppose never copyrighting. Patenting stuff started at over 1200$ and that was the special service to individual (rogue) inventors. As far as I know, online, just slapping copyright on the pages is generally considered as good as gold. For recordings though I suppose it's important to go the extra length. I think you might need a p in a circle (p) for recordings. Not sure why?? Let's see...
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sound_reco...ght_symbol Not sure myself exactly what qualifies as a "recording" there?? I'm thinking the ? is only needed for individual media https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Copyright#...pyright.22 35$ is impressive I think

In the FAQ section on copyright.gov
"I?ve heard about a ?poor man?s copyright.? What is it? The practice of sending a copy of your own work to yourself is sometimes called a ?poor man?s copyright.? There is no provision in the copyright law regarding any such type of protection, and it is not a substitute for registration. " Believe me, I thought of that one too. Looks like I'm beat - no more cutting corners. Its time to face the music. I really wouldn't think anyone would waste their time to steal my work, but better safe than sorry. This to me is project insurance. ...and insurance is always high. >_<

I still don't understand the logic behind how mailing something to yourself would constitute proof of anything as mail is supposed to be private (at least in theory)
I think I was only pointing out that copyrighting must be a lot more affordable these days, because at 35$ it's hard to imagine any man so "poor" as to devise alternative means of establishing proof of authorship or whatever. Wikipedia I think elaborates on the idea to include putting the work in a safe deposit box or in the hands of an attorney somehow. All of which would cost more than 35$ more or less so...

The sad thing is Tom, I under normal circumstances would agree that it wouldnt be dreamable anyone would want to try to steal your stuff, but quite honestly anything is possible...its pretty gay.
I have actually found websites advertising this site as their own, for whatever reason I have no clue, but if its on the internet, expect someone to try.

You're probably right. Some people might take something like this, not because they really want it, but just because they can.
Heh, in regards to being "poor" and copyrighting - what's the statistics now. If you have $15 to your name, you're richer than 90% of the world? The real kicker is copyrighting doesn't stop anyone from stealing anything from me, it just allows countermeasures after the fact. Eh, that's like so many things in life.
