Some model remakes...

#1
Dunno, I got bored this afternoon, and having not found a job yet, money is really tight, so I made use of sources of entertainment I already had, and put some time into MS3D. I remade some of the clutter from King's Field I (US), and also a sword I was inspired by King's Field to make... If someone wants these, you can have them, they're not great though.

Barrel: (Textured, not my sources)

Brazier 1: (Textured, HD KF texture, my source)

Quote:This next one has one of the HD King's Field texture remakes I'm doing for the stone.

Brazier 2: (Textured, HD KF texture, my source)

Quote:This also uses the stone texture which Brazier 1 used.

Bucket: (Textured, not my sources)

Quote:This is pretty much just a smaller barrel, I just noticed it was clutter in KF1

Sword: (Untextured)

Quote:My first attempt at making a sword... I think it went pretty well, just a shame I'm not artistic enough to give it a nice texture... Ah well.

And finally, this is a scene I put together in Unity3D with some of the HD KF textures I've been making, and Brazier 1... Has some flames too.

All looking good! I know that dmpdesign uses unity so he might ask for your brazier scene.

I have a lot of scenes from the original King's Field built, I was gonna re-create it, in HD with Unity... But unfortunately, my Unity knowledge is slim.

Those are quite nice. They're as good as some of the stuff I've seen in commercial games.

There was a thread on the Agetec forums way back about "what was your favorite location in KF" and mine was actually that light house. I still remember the the stars, ocean, floating fire-sprtes, and sense a grand adventure that was about to begin from my first KF playthrough.

If I can get my game-building up to speed, I may very well have some places where those models would work well. Would you like to post them to our "add on" thread here?

Sure thing, which would be the best format? I'm not sure how to do the Sword of Moonlight format since I've never actually modeled for it, but anything else is good... They're in .MS3D at the moment.

OBJ is a common format that can be imported into a SoM game pretty easily. Cool ‎  beerchug

Seeing this kind of stuff makes me want to redo my Dark Destiny game to have some HD graphics and better models and so on. ‎  If only I could stop time and do so, and of course have skills like yours.

Interesting you are creating in Unity...what else have you done in Unity?

I am interested in making alot of games in the platform, and could definitely used some skilled folks to help out...in case some members here may be interested?

Unity hehehe... I recreated the entire west coast scene, though it's got an unnecessarily high poly-count and lags if you don't have an up to date computer... I do like Unity though, but I'm still learning how to script and all that.

Big image alert! (I'm in a rush, don't have time to crop it...)

I don't actually have much skill in modeling, texturing I have hardly any... It's mostly just a lot of luck on if something looks good or not.

I'd like to use SoM and actually get something out there, rather than Unity -- But my computer and laptop both don't like SoM... The Laptop won't do Unity either though so...

Interesting TSB. Did you make the land model directly in Unity or import it from another modeler?

TSB have you tried SomEx? That should work on most machines. Also if it doesnt I can help you troubleshoot it.
