I'm also experiencing this problem. The only display mode where it works seems to be Monitor RGB, but that one gives a lousy performance when I up the resolution. 
Transparencies also don't seem to work for me. Compass-needle and grass and stuffs all have their thick black bg drawn ._.
Also using Win10, and tried it with both IntelHD and the GeForce940MX GPUs.
