No, you sounded good- reminded me of the the narrator from KF1 (US) .

What I've seen of your translation so far seemed fine; it was actually better than the original Japanese.
In general Japanese (and especially KF) often leaves things unsaid and expects you to fill in the blanks.
Like the sign the blind Poet scratched on the wall "hands" implying "give me a hand" ie "help me"
I tried to make a literal translation in KFJ and I think it ended up being confusing more than anything.
If I had it to do over, I would keep the text's intent, but completely 'American-ize' and fill in what was said to be clear.
That seems like what you did.

On a side note, I can transfer your voice overs onto the original videos without losing any quality and end up with a much smaller file size (about 100MB less), if you care about bandwidth. ‎
