I think I might know his art even though I didn't know his name. He was "that guy who paints the muscle-dudes and half-naked women fighting monsters".

I can certainly admire his talent, but the themes were a bit too "pro-wrestling" for my taste. I always felt the most poignant "fantasy" art showed the mundane meeting the extreme with a little mystery thrown in to make you think; it's that contrast and mystery that makes the "extreme" feel notable.
