So far so good, top rated game on the marketplace for indie games.

Hopefully this means good sales for a change :)

It just shows - sometimes, if you persevere with something you're good at, it pays off.

I'm sure theres some pride to seeing you're textures at number 1 ‎  Biggrin

I'm pleased for you and the team. Congratulations!!

That's really great :)
Very nice looking cover compared to the others shown there. Did you do any work on it?

That really does look nice. I've always thought "example" pictures you've posted on SoM look professional. I'll bet your experience with DD textures helped.

Fortresscraft is only $1!!?? I'm completely ignorant about xbox online games because I'm on satellite internet that has a huge latency (time lag), and low bandwidth allowance. Online gaming usually isn't an option for me. Does Fortresscraft download and then play off the 360s hard drive or does it require a continual internet link?

Well it ended up being released for $3, we toyed with the idea of ‎  $1 for a while but just couldnt get the size of the game down far enough (MS wont let you host 50mb+ games for less than $3)

The game doesnt require online play and is downloaded to your hard drive. ‎  you can build and edit your world to your hearts content without being online, but the multiplayer aspect is pretty fun:)

I expected a price around $20 minimum so $3 is a steal. I'll have to look into getting my XBox online.

I think its definately the way to release a first chapter!! People need to get into games etc and often a high price tag (for something they havent played yet) can be pretty off-putting, in my opinion.

I just paid  ‎£35 for a kinect game for my daughter. She definitly thinks its worth it, though at aged 9 with no income she would. It's a bargain

over 16 thousand copies sold in the first day, its an xbox indie game record :)

some interesting info:

an average xbox indie game gets 5-10% conversion rate from people who download the trial game and then buy it...pretty low, but thats the statistic.

really good games see between 10-15%.

The current best selling game on there was at 28% conversion and has sold 50k copies in about 2 years time.

Friday, our game launched, had just over 20,000 trials, and an 83% conversion rate, and we sold just a hair over 16,000 copies. ‎  so its pretty much smashing records :)

maybe if Im lucky Microsoft will kick it up to an xbox arcade game instead of an indie and we can get a following. ‎  I would foresee a KF style rpg being made by myself for the xbox in the future if thats the case ;)
