A lot of attacks in the game seem to have a hit rate of 40-60% which I guess would lead to a lot of misses. Also the max hit odds are capped at something like 90% so even the best units will miss 10% of the time. Would it be more enjoyable if I bumped up the hit rate by about 10%?

Yes that would be perfect !!! Thanks . You should try playing the game too now that its fixed it is a good game .

I m a little further in the game and it seems to be hitting more now . Maybe if there is a way to make the random number never go above 90 ?

That makes sense, assuming stats change as the summoner levels up. Attached is an updated version with the random roll set to 93 max.
I played this game a bit today and I'm getting to like it. I had some good laughs over how "comma crazy" the game's writer was. You'd be lucky to find a sentence without at least two commas and about half of them don't actually belong. But, I admire their zeal, for being punctuationaly, proficient. I also set the emulator's video plugin to 90 fps which compensates nicely for the game's sluggish controls and makes the music snappy!.

That's great . Would the configure work with petes 177 ? Is it ok if I post on the message board at game faqs about your patch ? It might make more people try it out .

One more thing that might be neat would be if the turn limit could be gone or increased to like 100 rounds . Just like in the Brigandine 6 yr limit on normal and hard .

The setting exists on all pete's plugins, but I could only get it to work with OpenGL2 v2.6 and Soft v1.17. On the other plugins, it was locked at 59FPS. You can mark the "Show FPS display on startup" box to make sure you're actually getting the speed boost.
I tried to alter the time limit count down, but the game shuffles the value through quite a few places so it's hard to find where the routine that changes it is - sorry . You can certainly post the patch wherever, thanks for asking.
I've played it more and it's not bad. I started liking it better when I changed "View Etc" to "off". The attack scenes are neat, but I much prefer skipping them to speed up play. The game has so much in common with Brigandine that one must the been inspired by the other. It even has Lance as a playable character!
