Holy banned, site downage

#1
Sorry for the down time today folks, I decided it was time to move on from our current administration and have disabled holydiver's account at this time.

In doing so I broke some links on the site and restored from a backup that was unneccessary (thus the loss of all of today's data more or less).

I apologize for the downtime.

If anyone has questions on my decision to ban holy please contact me privately.

If you are holy and reading this, please email me so I can get your digitaldevildb.com and resources transferred to your control on another domain.

Lets leave the rants and flames and immaturity out of this thread.

Thanks.

Flames aside, it was a wise choice Todd.

I've said to you, and I'll say to everyone else.
What a waste.

You know, if he was a heckler/troll in the purest form, it would have been good riddance. ‎  ....but Holy Diver does have something to contribute. ‎  Its a waste that his damages were greater than his assets, even though he's one heck of a web page builder.

His contributions to SoM were minimal though. ‎  While John and Jason were birthing applications/programs, Mick was still at the figures and screen-shots stage. ‎  We can always find another web master.

A powerful lesson and a shitty example:
Narcissism has no place among friends, among hobbies, among work.

I feel at more liberty to post and contribute what I can.

Just so everyone knows, I accidentally broke another site that holy was involved with when I was working to remove admin access earlier today. ‎  Unbeknownst to me this site's forum is directly integrated into another site's forum. ‎  I am not sure to what extent, or whether they can peacefully be seperated...but just letting everyone know that this forum may see some down time soon.

I have a backup of everything, but I want to be sure that if I were ever to use it that it would definitely not harm another .com unintentionally. ‎  So we may have to leave the shinyness behind...it depends on what holy can figure out or is willing to do with the file structure he put in place.

If stuff goes down, I will see to it that something makeshift (but functional) will be up asap.

So be it. ‎  The old forum wouldn't bother me in the slightest...

...afterall, its the people and posts that make the forum. ‎

Eye candy is icing on the forum cake and nothing more.

I am more worried about the data than the theme. ‎  I wouldnt want to lose the last year's worth of posts.

Unfortunately I have very little grasp on the architecture of the files...I did upgrade the site with a backup service though, so at least its going to be doing that nightly (so worst case scenario we lose the theme and i piece back in the posts into something new).

So, would it be a waste of time to copy and paste pages of the forum?

Ok, how about a COMPLETE waste of time to do that?

What if I wanted to do that for fun? ‎  Cheesy
