Lol, you ask as if I care what friends do with the webspace :P
Now if you were holydiver asking then I would most certainly say no you can't!
I agree with him though, I don't think having /hgouls on swordofmoonlight.com makes swordofmoonlight.com look bad, but it may look unprofessional for you to have it in front of your addy.
How would I go about buying a name and still using the swordofmoonlight.com space? Is that even possible? (you'll probably figure out fairly quickly that I don't know anything about server type stuff)
I wouldn't mind a whole lot buying my own domain, but I won't need a whole lot of space. I think it would just be a waste. Plus, I wouldn't mind nabbing you guys some extra traffic - once people are curious as to what swordofmoonlight.com is.
I know that's happened at least a couple times...

Heh - whoops on the links!! I guess I had SoM on the brain. Now there's only one link.
I also removed the Hguols site from the anon.swordofmoonlight.com section.... I'd hate for people to find both sites with search engines and get a little confused.
The songs are named in that manner so each track can completely reflect the album title name.
Epitome of Burning Plagues, Epitome of Famine and Decay, etc.

Yeah, it's no problem getting you a domain name (I'm assuming hguols.com is available)
I could qualify it by saying "I don't think," but really it's not professional for either your stuff or som.com to have permanent pages that are not som.com related. And yeah, I think som.com should definitely be a professional website (just give me some time)
I'd say if you're selling your album for 9$ a pop, one sell should cover your domain name. Well worth it.
Technically I'd say it's not a good idea in general to have webpages in the anon subdomain. If I don't forget, I think I'll stick a robots.txt file in there to try to keep search engines from crawling the anon subdomain.
PS: I think people will get that the song titles are an addendum to "Epitome" without banging them over the head with the ellipsis
Technically the song titles are still without the Epitome however, and the "..." will cause you some problems with some file systems/software... and technically "..." denotes a pause/wait, not necessarily that something came before... nor is there anything wrong with a title that begins with "of" (I can't think of anything, but it's probably very common)? ---famous last words
PPS: ^All the ellipsis in that statement were completely unintentional (guess I just had ellipsis on my mind -- I wish I was so clever)

Am I reading this right??
Quote:The Hguols project actually started back in 2005. It was a solo project, and involved instrumental black metal using live instruments. Acoustic drum tracks were laid and one was song was completed, but a house fire ended up destroying the computer with all the work on it.
Since I even proofread the biography and still missed that, does that mean I'm retarded?
*drools*
Speaking of retarded, I have no problem purchasing a domain name. I think it would be a great investment. However, I'm not sure where to go or where to start as far as that.
Is there something on ipower.com that would let me do this? Any links, drool wiping or points in the right directions would be greatly appreciated.

Well you could do it independently thru any registrar, but Todd can also do it pretty easily for you. If you can access the websites cpanel, you might be able to purchase the domain on your own dime. Todd picked up a domain credit for me earlier, which I guess I owe him for... where if I had thought about it, maybe I could've found a way to purchase it with my own finances. Maybe Todd knows if everything is billed to him, or otherwise (I feel stupid/like a bum for not trying now)
I know it cost us like 10$ to transfer the digitaldevildb.com domain. I don't know for certain if that cost would cover the initial purchase of a domain or not. My bet is it would, but I would not be surprised if that might a separate expense. I know the host we transferred from was trying to make the previous dude with the account pay like 30$ to renew the domain, but after we transferred it we were told it's lease was automatically extended for a year. Perhaps it's 10$ a year. And the 30$ was for a minimum of 3yrs, I don't know. I think maybe iPower seems to do things per year (but don't quote me on that)

It is per year as far as I can tell, and swordofmoonlight.com is renewing next month automatically (or so it shows it should, i will probably end up murdering someone if it doesnt auto renew!)
The space to run this site is something like $90 a year, each domain is $10 i think to keep it registered (who knows Im very lazy at paying attention) and I think I an add up to 3 subdomains, one of them already being taken by digitaldevil. That means there should be space for your domain and I will look into it for you tonight most likely.
As far as I am concerned you are welcome to having /hgouls be a subdomain of this site, but if you are going to pursue anything like ecommerce etc for selling your cds then the cost will likely go up because I will have to buy some account addons.
All I care about is that no one puts up anything that gets Ipower on my case about the account or anyone posts something that has viruses. Other than that, if I chuck a $10 bill or whatever annually for you guys to have your subdomains its no big deal to me.
Besides I emailed you today asking you a favor, so that can be payment for your subdomain costs :P
As for Holydiver? Well hes indebted to me FOREVER muahahahahahahahahahahahahaha. hahahah HAHAHAHAHAHAHAH MUAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH BWAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!
(p.s. I am in a rare mood today and feeling rather strange!)
Maybe you ate some shrooms accidentally! They have been known to pop right out of the ground into people's mouths this time of year. ^_^
I'll gladly do your favor you asked Todd, that's a no brainer for sure! I still wouldn't mind PayPal-ing your ass $10 for the domain name either. Its not like I'm strapped for cash. (actually, come to think of it, I haven't been this financially well off since, well, ever.... one of the perks to sobriety!)
hguols.com would be STELLAR to have, but I have no real problem sticking with swordofmoonlight.com/hguols. I was never planning on any vast online action with all that there Star Wars stuff.
Ultimately, that's not going to make or break this project. The music will do that.

I think you have an infinite number of subdomains at your disposal... but I'm not positive. I just remembered I'd made a ticket asking this question. If there is is a three domain limit that is definitely a problem.
Here is the reply from the ticket on subdomains:
Quote:While reviewing your account, I have noticed that the plan on your account is ?IPowerPro Hosting Plan? which will be billed $47.70 per year. In this plan, you can create unlimited subdomains and FTP subusers.
Subdomains are like anon.swordofmoonlight.com. Different than the "non-sub" domain. Where did you get three from Todd??
