I'm more capable perhaps, but don't get the idea I'm more caring... in fact I have a certain antipathy towards websites that really makes me unpopular. You don't want me to be the spiritual leader of a website, or it will almost definitely fade into a cesspool of disenchanted-ness. Ideally I do best if no one knows I exist... I'm just not on the average persons wavelength. And I really resent people who expect one person to bear the weight of a website on their back and be charming as all hell while they're at it.
Technically I've been the best thing that ever happened for digitaldevildb.com, but in general it almost seems no one wants to involve themselves just because they don't like my hands off attitude. I only keep the site alive out of a technical obligation to keep it on the internet for the community if they want it and in memory of the poeple who've added to it over the years. I'm a person not stirred by passions but of a sense of justice... well mostly righteousness.
Furthermore my interests here are truly self serving. And anyway, I think in the long run, if you limit the scope of the site completely to SoM you will be stunting it's growth. I think it has a lot more potential. And if all goes well over time the original SoM will start to take more of a backseat (I mean a website dedicated entirely to a circa 2000 software product alone technically can't last forever / continue to be relevant)
I think Wordpress theme we have definitely lacks charm, and would be better off replaced. I'm just not the person who is going to replace it. I brought it to the point it is because I felt it had to reach a bare minimum bar of presentability, but that's where I draw the line as far as my sense of obligation goes.
