Still having problems

Hey its me, been away along time again, but I always come back! anyway, I Decided to start a new map and Im still having the problems I was before with messed up looking textures with the house addons, Am i installing the game/textures in a wrong order? I first installed the game and translation from swordofmoonlight, installed the game added on the translation, then I went to weissvulf's website and downloaded the house addons and placed them in the "map" folder over the old "map" folder and thats when I have problems, the houses always look like textures are missing and when I walk away from the houses i've built and the normal "grass" texture dissapere's..can anyone please tell me what's going on? I really want to start on a project again but I HAVEEEE to have these houses correct, its the main thing I wanted in my game.

Hmmmm the black tells me that you should check you settings in som ‎  sounds like you have rgb emulation on. ‎  Change to directhal, should fix this:-) ‎  ‎  also make sure under lighting, ambiant is checked...... Welcome aboard my friend........... And happy moddeling.............ML

Im pretty sure that fixed it for me too.

Go to system > options then on the options screen use the left / right directional keys to change it to HAL or something that works better for you.

I cant figure it out, I swear its somthing to do with when I add the house addon's from weissvulf's website, when I dont add any addons to SoM it looks fine, the "green grass" texture isnt black, but as soon as I add those house addons, the ground around the outside floor is invisible like the grass texture there isnt right then it mess's up the other grass texture to look all black for me..

Sorry you're having a problem with the house Havok. I suspect Verdite and Madison were right that this is an issue with the display "mode" you are using. Have you tried changing settings under "System > Options > Device"?
You might try to use each of the devices that show up there to see if one of them fixes the problem.

Yep, first thing I checked was that, I was excited because I thought that would for sure fix it..well to my shock and horror it was already set to directhal 3D i even switched it around to the other 2 options and nothing worked. Its that house addon that Im adding that is giving me problems..and I really want it bad for my game, if anyone can even somehow link me to a zip of SoM with the house addons in it already maybe I could try that..I know its alot of work for someone but it would help me out.

I looked at texture files and there might have been a problem with some of their formatting. ‎  Please try the attached replacement textures. They go in "...\DATA\MAP\TEXTURE".

I have been trying to replicate this problem with no results..... I agree , I think it is a texture problem :-) ‎  I retuxterd that same set and have a perfect copy with a brick texture If you want that one as well :-) ‎  I like that house too. ‎  ‎  ‎  Some of my first post were in that house :-) ‎  ‎  ‎  let me know if you want it :-) ‎  ...................... Oh yeah I thought of something, make sure your map has no holes, meaning blank unused map squares inside of walls..... Sometimes that will cause the engine grief.... Fill blank spaces with either the "dummy piece" or the "blank" map tile......... Happy modeling

OMG! HwitVlf it workeddddddddd! there totally fine now..I was wondering what was up because I had them working before along time ago when I was trying to make a project, Im so happy now I can finnally work in peace, thank you so much for all your guys's time trying to help me :)

p.s Madison Lastrega if you would be so kind as to post that retextured brick house I would love it, Ill take anything I can get my hands on! Im hoping to browse around the forums and pick up any pieces ppl are letting others use. thanks in advance.
