I got my King's Field Additional II walkthrough completely finished! ‎  John helped too!

Check it out!

https://www.hguols.com/kfa2FAQbyTom.zip (29kb)

...I've submitted it to GameFAQs, and it should be there soon.

EDIT: ‎  I had the file up as a txt, but since some browsers will display this funny (and notepad won't) here's the zip instead. ‎  ^_^

Wow !! This would have been awesome when I was writing my ingame dictionary of terminology. It covered all the
items, npc, enemies in KF1 and KF2......nice job. ‎  Not even sure if I ever finished KF2.....
Cheers

Well, its easy when you don't use official names! ‎  ^_^

Sure, some of the same enemies from the PSOne games, I used their names when they were in Additional II....

....but for some enemies, I was pretty ridiculous. ‎  For God's sake, I named one of the enemy's "Earl".
(cause I thought he looked like an Earl)

I'm always a goofball though. ‎  ^_^

I don't think I've ever seen a Gamefaqs-style guide with made up names Evil

If you wanted to make a list somehow I could translate them for you.

I noticed a lot of PSP games like these are available for download on the PSN now. Sure beats the heck out of importing other than the occasional sweet deal. I'm guessing you don't need the Go to play them.

Well, the guide is actually an "Additional II for dummies" type guide. ‎  (including myself)

I made this from the "dummy" standpoint that I can't read any enemy names. ‎  Don't worry - I vividly described Earl.

I may play through this, and if I really like the game I may be interested in translation of the names etc.

How exactly do you even type the japanese text so that someone that knows it can translate it?

Transcribing Japanese can be pretty tough. If the names are all kana, if you really wanted to torture yourself you could reasonably learn kana and type them all out if you really stuck with it. Otherwise if in any way you can take a screenshot you're probably better off that way. Especially if you could get many enemy names in a list on screen somehow.

I wish PS3 had screenshot builtin. I imagine the PSP is even less friendly --- presuming it lacks serious keyboard options. I wonder what a digital camera would look like aimed at an lcd screen??

I dunno, do the characters have eyes? It's just not KF if they have eyes in my book... not being realtime/free roaming 3D is hard enough to wrap my head around.

PS: Stick to me and I will explain IMEs to you sometime. However if you're not interested in learning Japanese, you're probably safer copy/pasting off the internet than actually typing stuff in. You gotta know how to spell it to type it after all!!

EDITED: I wasn't explicit enough before. KF Additional 1&2 are available for download and being advertised on the PSN as of the other night.
