My efforts with the band are on the verge of paying off.
There is a label interested in releasing the Hguols album and adding me to their roster!!!
The small but growing label is EEE Recordings and they're actually from the same state I am. (Illinois)
I've made good grounds on my next SoM project today, and now I have other work to do regarding the Hguols project.... (like getting the album artwork to them)
Looks like I'll be quite busy this weekend.

OK, a virus smoked my SOM laptop, so I had to reinstall everything.
Its a windows XP machine, and I have everything installed from my installer program + I copied over all my old files back onto the machine.
I have the proper fonts installed and versions of direct X etc. But I am having a problem I cannot explain.
Ever since reloading my computer, whenever I attempt to edit an event that uses a message it will not let me do any carriage returns in the text. So it forces me to put everything on the top line and after so many characters it continues off the box and I can no longer see what I am typing. The typing does allow me to fill the whole box, but it never shows anything past the first line in the editor. When I trigger the event in game, all the text is there as well, so I know it took the information, but just doesnt seem to let me format a carriage return in the editor.
I have uninstalled and reinstalled SOM, I have loaded different versions of MS gothic and eastern language packs, I have uninstalled and reinstalled directx and graphics drivers and so on and no luck. Its really pissing me off.
The issue also exists in the item editor, the system editor etc and I can't type in item descriptions etc correctly. Its always something with this damn program...spent the last three days wasting my time on this problem!

I started dabbling again with SoM - the first time in months.
Immediately, I began experimenting with the newer map pieces, as I've never had these back with the other games.
Unfortunately, some of the pieces are.... well, they're not poorly made, but their not perfect. Pattern ridden dots and subtle gaps seem much more prevalent in the additional map pieces opposed to the ones that came with SoM.
I really hope the additional objects and items aren't the same way. >_<
I know I'm picky, but its for a good reason...

John mentioned this to me in an e-mail. Someone contacted him in regards to Diadem of Maunstraut (probably because of my recommendation in the DoM manual of John being more knowledgeable about how SoM works?) and he had a freezing problem.
The freeze involved any monster dropping an item would make the game crash.
John loaded the guy's save and noticed he had coins from monsters EVERYWHERE. Collecting the coins remedied the problem, but it goes to show that one too many items loaded to the map can result in a fatal error. (probably pass the 256 placement number?)
I haven't tried this myself. Heh, I don't even have DoM on my computer - how blasphemous is that?!?!? ^_^
I still think this might be worth mentioning in manuals though under known issues....

Anyone out there? Hehe.
No new posts for a few days, just wondering how all the game making is going on the various projects that are floating around.
Ive hit writer's block on my game, its 99% done and I just can't get myself to finish it.
A few of the reason:
I am now at the point of having to tweak enemy strengths vs equipment vs leveling strength which is a bit annoying. My game is so damn huge now and i was worried that it wouldnt be big enough. Its becoming annoying to run through and test this stuff. Oh well. That and I have decided to retexture most of my custom models because the cheesy, thrown together textures of them are clashing with some of the more recent stuff i did.
It should still see light of day soon. Hopefully some other games will as well.

Hello, I'm new to this editor and I just wanted to pass some time with it.
Now I've made my first map and selected starting point and so on.
When I want to test the map, the game starts.
All I see is a "90% Black Screen", means:
I see the compass, the HP and MP Bars, but that's it. The rest is black. When I press the left or right arrow key my figure seems to turn the chosen direction, as I can tell cuz off the compass.
The sample of KOF works pretty well, so what to do?
Btw: The sample is in japanese, because it wasn't translated. But I can build a game on the language I want to (like programming npc's text or something?))???
