Hook, Line and Sinker!!!!

Actually the weapons hit length is determined in the .prf file for the weapon itself and is independant of the swing animation.

There is a pair of hexes you can modify near the end of the items .prf that will change the length of the weapon (why SOM didnt include this in an editable UI is beyond me). ‎  The first hex of the pair controls the 10ths and hundredths place of the length and the second number controls the length on the left side of the decimal point. ‎  I haven't quite determined how they scale the input hex number to the output length change but it takes a significant number to get something beyond the length of an average sword. ‎  The only way to really know how it is affected is to change the hexes, then load a game with the item in your inventory and see what it says the length is.

If DD 1.0.7 ever comes out it will have the adjusted spear length in it so that it actually hits enemies at its tip like it should.

You could in theory design a projectile weapon with this method by making a reallllly long length, but I imagine it would be hard to pull off any animation that made sense in the swing (unless holy knew how to develop a new one).

^^The Som version looks best. It looks very inline with the Dragon Fruit etc a la the KF series. A sword called White Wolf would probably be more white and include less dragon ornamentation Hearton

Am I the only one who notices there is no attempt to file posts under appropriate topics in here? Or almost a perverse incentive program to do the exact opposite Evil

EDITED: @Todd, I realize the length is there. But it gets extruded from a 3D triangle embedded in the arm file. So if the triangle is moved around in the arm animation that is another way to control how the weapon connects to the enemy (I'm afraid I don't know much about the per weapon "swing animation" files -- if someone would like to school me, please do so in another topic)

Good point holy, i never thought of that (moving the starting point of the weapon by moving the arm).

Does anyone know where the arm animations are held? ‎  I mean, there is no graphic to them, so there wont be any .mdo or .mdl file, unless they make transparent ones? ‎  It would simply be a skeleton frame placeholder that directs the movement of the .mdo file that you have equipped as a weapon....in other words if you make a blank weapon and swing you wont see anything but can still hit people.

If there is some sort of blank .mdl file lurking around we might be able to modify this and allow for an animation that could have an arrow shoot from the player...

There is an Arm.MDL file with the arm. It seems to be copied in more than one place, so I'm not sure where the actually used file is. Probably there is only one copy if you look in the original (untainted) disc filetree.

Please split this stuff from Tom's thread btw... it could not be more off topic Rolleyes

I was just not so seriously pointing out the obvious. It's very nice, but the John sentiment seems slapped on. So there's little doubt someone sooner or later will strip out the John stuff because it is so nice. If it held up on its own people would probably not feel inclined to do that (ie. if the design was more thoughtful it would be a better candidate for the ranks of legendrary KF swords)

Hey, if you feel like it, vote for Hguols by clicking here on hardcoremix.com.

hardcoremix.com is a free internet radio site featuring multiple genres of music. ‎  I'll be featuring songs, basically one a week, for a while.

I've got 1,189 favorite "Favorite Artist" votes so far (which is still pretty low on the totem pole) but any and all sincere votes would be appreciated.

It's not for profit, it's just something fun.

Thanks in advance!

I voted for someone on that site, Im not telling who!

Hey Tom, I think you should make a portfolio profile on this site:

www.soundclick.com

I have come into contact with several musicians who posted there and found out that its a common place for people to go when they are searching for video game musicians.

Thanks for the input on soundclick.com

I don't really advertise Hguols/myself as a maker of video game music though.

I got a page up and running. ‎  They're money hungry, but I guess it will be another site that features my music.
