I'm actually not sure if I should be posting this here and I will move it at the first request, but anyway....
I'm not sure how to get this game. The link on the SOM Games page just goes to a bunch of ads and I can't find any way to get this. A shame, since I love KF and the music in this sounds pretty good. Does anyone know if I can still get this?

Is this normal? (KF1SOM) |

So I have an old machine I play Windows 98 games on, and thought "why not try King's Field 1 PC?"
It seemed to run fine but some of the text was glitched. In particular, one of Eric Baccus' (the second shopkeeper on the first floor) lines showed up completely garbled, and money displayed at first as .f (Period followed by an F). I tried installing foreign fonts and Microsofts English-Japanese IME, and it... changed the font, but now money is * F (Asterisk-F, or at least a dot that I think is supposed to be an asterisk). I haven't restarted to see if Eric's one line was fixed.
I was just wondering if this is normal for the PC version in Windows 98, or is there some additional font/software I should install, or do I have to actually install the SOM software itself (currently I only have KF1 installed)?
I'm also running the game in 800x600 16-bit color (I have a Voodoo 3 2000) if that makes any difference. This comp is 700mhz and 512mb of ram, so its pretty maxed out for a Windows 98 SE comp.

Several years ago I took it upon myself to ban a member from the forums for actions I deemed unfit for forum etiquette. Although I don't regret the action I do regret my negative statements I made about him and his work at the time as well as the lengths I took to ensure he would not want to return. Instead of mediating the problems I took sides and was rather unfair to Holy Diver.
He has faithfully ever since continued to work on SomEx and I believe it still deserves praise and support, regardless of anyone's personal opinions of him or their inability to get along. Over the years I have grown a thicker skin and I think everyone should work toward being more accepting and understanding of people that don't necessarily have their ideal forum social skills.
I would like to move on and hope that he finds his way back to these forums now that the ban has been lifted and would like to see some SoM users take interest in his project and use SomEx for their games. You can find out more about SomEx currently at \<span> site blocked, contact your administrator or help fund his continued development at https://www.patreon.com/swordofmoonlight

Dungeons & Darkness |

Sorry I've never posted in this forum before. Reason why I'm creating a thread is because of a game I been playing recently that really gives me that King's Field feel that no other game besides King's Field has done before. It's called Dungeons & Darkness.
Only gripe I have with the game is each time you attack, you cannot move when you do. So circle strafing around foes and keep them at bay is impossible in this game. However, it also brings a new element of strategy when taking down monsters.
It is your full blown dungeon crawler. However, I don't know if the developers of this game know exactly what they made or how they could possibly further take it. They definitely made a highly enjoyable game but I doubt they'll make any newer additions to it. Tell me what you guys think of the game (if the forum boards here are still presently active).
Game is on Steam. It's 10 bucks but well worth it. I so far clocked in 10 hours on this beast...

So I have downloaded the translated King's Field from here and I am trying to figure out how to change the control scheme. From what I have seen there is no obvious solution, so can the game be reconfigured at all? I might just be overlooking something but I'm at a loss.

What are the thoughts on this game, now that it and it's DLC are now out?
personally, I feel it's the weakest of all the souls games. Its just so damn linear, and so dull visually. everything is grey or brown. Even Bloodborne had more color.

Hi guys, long time!
I've got a D&D group going, where I'm the DM, and I'm planning to turn the KF2(Melanat) story into an adventure for my players. It's going to be slightly modified to fit with the campaign I'm running in general, but mostly the same. These are all players whom probably will never experience the glory that is KF otherwise, either. :P
Anyway, I'll put up the stuff I create here. Thinking of modelling some of the creatures as 28mm minis, especially those I can't find otherwise, like the krakens and two headed snails. Hopefully, in the end, I can put together a full adventure module for D&D 5e for people to use. :)
