  KF1(J) Eboot?
Posted by: Yharnam - 2014-06-13, 03:27 PM - Forum: King's Field Series - Replies (28)

Heyy,

I've been looking everywhere for a working KF1 eboot. I found this one:
https://www.swordofmoonlight.com/KF1Translated.htm

but the Dropbox link is dead.

I've tried converting my own, but it always crashes my PSP when I try to save.

Can anyone post a working one if it isn't too much trouble?
Thanks ‎  Biggrin

  Unity Development Fridays
Posted by: dmpdesign - 2014-06-12, 09:35 PM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (2)

Hey gang, the programmer I work with is hosting a twitchtv channel every Friday (for now anyhow) where we get into the development of a game, start to finish, totally online.

We have done this two weeks in a row and the current game we are building is a milkfloat simulator (yes it sounds dreadful..but the development side is neat).

I am inviting everyone to poke their head in every Friday - we will be showing how to develop a simple game in Unity live, taking questions, fleshing out the game etc to the audience's liking. ‎  I suspect milkfloat will probably be finished up with 2 more sessions, but we have tons of other games coming up, such as a gauntlet clone, an 8 player capture the flag game etc etc. ‎  We really need to push the view rate so if you are interested in seeing development, learning about game dev or know someone who is please come!

You can find his twitch url here: ‎  https://www.twitch.tv/djarcas/

and I believe he will begin around 10am british time (5 am eastern) and will probably go most of the day.

Bloodborne at E3 From Software's newest project
Posted by: shalazad - 2014-06-11, 07:54 PM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (7)

Did anyone else catch the E3 Sony presentation? It was very cool to see Miyazaki up on stage speaking english. Looks like another amazing souls style game with a gothic vampire slayer feel. I love every game From Software makes. PS4 Exclusive title. ‎  Doh Smash2

Here's a link to the entire press conference:

P.S. I'm new to sword of moonlight...i'd love to play dark destiny but i can't seem to open it or unzip it without errors. Any help would be appreciated.

The KF1 SoM remake link is down.

Wasn't really sure where to post about this. Moderators can feel free to move this.

But yeah, the link is down. Dropbox says the file was moved or deleted. Oh, I just checked and the PS1 ISO and PSP version are down too. Though I'm not personally interested in those two. I'm guessing the Dropbox account was closed or something.

  Heroes and Castles
Posted by: Hguols - 2014-06-08, 02:23 AM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (1)

This is an android/ios game that (strangely/hilariously enough) reminds me of a mix between King's Field and Serious Sam.
I've had quite a bit of fun playing this already.

At its foundation, its a "protect the castle" game with a generous portion of the strategy elements replaced with Action RPG elements.

  Goat zombies??!

I came across this trailer for Goat simulator. If I had been drinking milk, it would have come out my nose...

Does anyone remember the trailer for Dead Island (I'm a big Mairi Campbell ‎  fan and she did the music for it).

Lighting Test for a Horror Game
Posted by: JC Bailey - 2014-06-01, 09:36 PM - Forum: General Theory Discussions - Replies (6)

These are some test images I made up with the help of Verdite for a Horror-RPG I plan on developing. The first image's foggy ambiance was inspired by Silent Hill, and the second image shows how light can reflect off enemy models in a dark cave. One of the problems I had in Return to Melanat was the visibility of map tile seams due to the lack of lighting effects, and I think this does a good job at hiding that. So what do you all think, would you like to see a horror game like this made with the Sword of Moonlight tool?

PS: The zombie's name is Robert.

  Return to Melanat [Full Game]
Posted by: JC Bailey - 2014-05-30, 05:27 PM - Forum: JC Bailey's Games - Replies (53)

Return to Melanat

Introduction: Return to Melanat is an attempt to recreate the environments of King's Field 2 in a whole new light, and while delivering an entirely new story. Like all King's Field games, its gameplay centers around exploration, methodical combat, and light puzzle solving. All seven areas of Melanat are recreated to scale using nothing but the SOM toolset and very few custom resources. Please offer any constructive feedback, and have fun!

Note: This game is meant to be played in a standard 4:3 resolution. Widescreen mode is still playable, but will cause tile cut-off in open environments like the West Shore.

Story/Setting
This game takes place about twenty years after the events of King's Field 3. Light has been granted to the world and peace reigned for a while, however, a mysterious darkness has emerged on the Island of Melanat. Fearing the worst, the king led a detachment of knights to the island in an attempt to contain the spreading darkness, but they have not been heard from since. You play as a young prince who journeys to Melanat in search of his missing father, the king. From there, it is up to the player to explore the island and reveal its hidden secrets.

King's Field V - What do you expect?
Posted by: JC Bailey - 2014-05-29, 02:07 PM - Forum: King's Field Series - Replies (2)

The question I'd like to ask in this post is simple - What would you like to see in a new King's Field sequel?

Should it go back to the original trilogy, expand on The Ancient City, or create an entirely new universe?

What would the setting be like, and what types of areas would you be willing to explore in this setting?

Lastly, how much content, in general, should a game like King's Field V have?

  A Gauntlet Legends Style Game
Posted by: dmpdesign - 2014-05-29, 03:39 AM - Forum: Game Chat - Replies (4)

Maybe I should call it a clone lol, but my programmer and I have dabbled in sorting a Gauntlet Legends style game the last couple days - here is 2 days worth of effort or so:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vxSXH2TN...e=youtu.be

Note my dynamic lights aren't working for some reason when I run Fraps, its odd - I think it might be framerate driven (auto adjusts quality on low framerate detection).

Anyhow, if we get interest, this game may appear on Steam and possibly mobile format in the future!
